This is WHY they do predictive programming. It creates an "immersive illusion" reinforced by feedback within the media echo chambers.
Consider the hoax-based television series “Space Cadets”, in which contestants were convinced they were in low earth orbit while on the ground in a simulated spacecraft simulating space travel:
"The show consistently raised the issue of how an immersive illusion can convince average people over a period of time, especially when reinforced as part of a group of believers – especially when this includes men in white coats and other authority figures. Outsiders (in this case, the viewers) see the hoax as laughable, yet 'inside' the Cadets have been slowly lulled into (as Vaughan stated) "what is, in effect, an alternative universe." —https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Cadets_(TV_series)
The lies were reinforced by actors among the contestants who acted like gatekeepers, preventing the targets of the hoax from figuring it out.
The predictive programming we often discuss employs repetition of themes and narratives so much they are inescapable. The feedback loop of media true-believers maintains the hyperstitions and illusions.

Is not the plandemic the ultimate recent example of how most people instantly believed the incessant fear mongering from "experts," "authorities," and "officials"? So much so that everyday folks became civilian police, at their jobs (playing gatekeepers and reinforcers), in their homes, and out in public. They're inside of — and hooked into — the mediatized artificial machine mind.
